Fjord Rentals was founded in 2022 as a logical continuation of its parent company Portula Construction & Development. Portula has been building luxury log homes in unique locations in Norway for more than 15 years. In doing so, customers are included in the process from plot selection to completion. Fjord Rentals is a fast-growing dynamic scale-up where you can make a difference, have a lot of freedom and your impact is immediately visible.

Most owners invest in a property in Norway because of the attractive returns on rental. This also created the need for total care in the area of rentals.

Due to strong growth and demand for vacation rentals, Fjord Rentals is looking for an entrepreneurial Product Manager.

Function

The Product Manager's role is in the middle of the organization. The Product Manager is responsible for developing Fjord Rentals' brand and services. You operate on a strategic, tactical and operational level. The goal is to manage and execute (in cooperation with DGA and Finance Manager) all processes related to Fjord Rentals. In this role you will have intensive contact with both the landlord and the tenant. The owner of the property makes his property available and wants to be extensively involved in the process. The tenant will also have questions. Important in this is managing this process.

The ambition is to expand the offer to other properties in the near future. The range of services currently includes mediation in renting and organizing the final cleaning. The ambition here is also to expand this with other services and related products in order to work towards a total package for both the tenant and landlord.

This is - at this stage - a stand alone role, you are the one who is commercially and operationally responsible for Fjord Rentals. You will do this in cooperation with the directors (who are regularly in Norway) and the Finance manager. You will be the first point of contact for the landlord/tenant, put the properties online, manage the stakeholders. It is expected that after 6-12 months you will start building a team, the operational tasks will then mainly be with the back office staff.

You provide an overview, manage the prices and bookings, keep a close eye on which homes and periods run well and which do not, and to each observation, you know a concrete action to hang. You are also responsible for budget management and keep the budget up to date. You will manage the external marketing partners and you will manage the various sales channels such as Booking.com and Airbnb.

In this position you will have the opportunity to develop yourself within a broad field of marketing, tourism and management. Working in a small team offers many advantages to take on tasks and responsibility in many different areas.

As Product Manager, you will report directly to one of the two directors, who has ultimate responsibility for Fjord Rentals.

Challenges in this role include: being commercially and operationally responsible for Fjord Rentals. Establish a team and together build the business.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Direct external marketing partners;
  • Contact landlord/tenant;
  • Drafting a sales channel strategy;
  • Manage the various sales channels;
  • Responsible for setting up the Recranet booking system;
  • Operational processing of all rental transactions in Recranet;
  • Monitor financial budgets;
  • Analyze existing data to further optimize processes;
  • Develop and implement pricing strategy;
  • Maintain contacts with partners in Norway (including cleaning);
  • Operational handling of customer inquiries (phone/mail);
  • Operationally manage the (future) back office.

Candidate

Are you commercial, entrepreneurial and analytically strong? Are you able to operate independently and do you have an affinity for marketing and tourism?

Job Requirements:

  • HBO working and thinking level, (e.g. Commercial Economics / International Business & Management / Hotel Management) ;
  • Preferably experience in tourism and affinity for marketing;
  • Good with numbers (translating data into concrete insights and actions);
  • Knowledge of and affinity for budget management;
  • Knowledge of and experience with planning tools;
  • Strong commercial and ambitious personality, results-oriented, innovative and a team player;
  • Independent, persuasive, entrepreneurial and proactive;
  • Customer-oriented attitude and excellent contact and communication skills;
  • Able to communicate at different levels;
  • Analytical and problem-solving thinking skills, with a strong hands-on mentality;
  • A good command of Dutch and English in word and writing;
