The four seasons in Norway

Portula builds throughout Norway, but given the travel distance and opportunities around the four seasons, primarily
in southeastern Norway (Telemark and Hedmark). Telemark is also called Mini Norway because of its combination of fjords, rugged mountain landscapes, large lakes and forests. There are four seasons to enjoy in this area.

Spring; the landscape awakens from winter, and how!
Spring is the time of year when Norway's magical appeal is perhaps at its strongest. The flowered mountain slopes with fresh green grass contrast sharply with the azure fjords and lakes, while only the mountain peaks are still fully covered in winter snow. What could be finer than a nice walk or bike ride in this enchanting landscape around your vacation villa, where true silence is still heard. And where seeing moose, deer or badgers can still be considered almost normal.

Summer; the time of unlimited enjoyment
Imagine: having breakfast on your porch, enjoying the first dawn. Everything indicates that summer is in full swing. Pine scent, blooming plants and flowers and the cheerful munching of some sheep in the neighboring hills. Moments later, you are cycling along a winding gravel road past streams and rocky outcroppings as the breathtaking scenery passes you by. Or maybe you'll be in a canoe, or casting a line for a fresh trout. But a day relaxing on a quiet beach in the sun is also possible, of course. And the beautiful golf courses in the vicinity of the home also invite a restful effort. The evenings seem endless as the sun remains in the sky for a long time.

Autumn; late summer with splashes of color, blueberries and chanterelles
The character of Norwegian autumn is unique. In autumn, the mountain valleys turn to ochre yellow and emerald red. And the countless blueberry bushes and chanterelles invite you to take a tasty walk near you. The many beautiful sunny autumn days are a very welcome transition to the approaching winter. It is the weather of T-shirts as well as wool sweaters. But it is also the time of sitting for hours in the autumn sun, while in the evening your own wood stove is lit. Enjoying the day with a wool plaid over your legs, with a glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate.

Winter; white silence and snow fun for young and old
Winter stills the landscape. Everything is covered in a thick layer of snow. Inside, the wood fire crackles, while outside the first Norwegians get ready for a walk or a cross-country skiing trip. Children are indulging their imaginations with snow huts, sledding parties and snowball fights. Whether you go hiking, cross-country skiing or alpine skiing, the possibilities are endless. And what could be more delightful than to relax by the fireplace of your own luxury villa in the evening. Or how about a jump in your own sauna or jacuzzi?
