Portula's construction process in ten steps

Are you dreaming of owning a holiday property in Norway? Portula will be happy to assist you. Together, we will go through the process of a longstanding wish to a turn-key property, step by step. Basically, it is a very comprehensible process in 10 steps, which are:

1. Inventorying the wishes

The first and foremost thing to do, is to state your wishes. Do you have a certain region in mind? What will be the main purpose of the holiday property? Do you, for instance, like skiing or angling? Or do you want to use it as a base when you go on beautiful nature walks?

2. Finding a plot

Based on this information, we will look for a plot. We know Norway very well and this enables us to properly advise you about the atmosphere at the different locations. But of course, you also want to explore that yourself. In that case, we can arrange attractively priced trial residencies for you, of one weekend or longer, in new holiday properties. We will advise you about the most convenient route, while once there, we will take you to check different properties.

3. Construction plan

Then it is time to select a property type. An own design is also among the possibilities. Based on the wishes in terms of size, lay-out and furniture, a construction plan will be drawn up. This is when you choose extras, such as an outdoor or indoor fireplace, bay windows, a green roof or a sauna.

4. Quotation

This construction plan comes with a clear quotation. After signing this quotation, the work can really start.

5. Financing

For the financing of the property, by means of a mortgage loan, it will be our pleasure to bring you in contact with reliable financial partners. In general, a financing of 60%-70% is possible.

6. Other formalities

We will also help you with other formalities concerning the construction of a holiday property Scandinavia. For instance applying for the personal identification number, that you will need to open a bank account and for the registering on immovable property.

7. Construction

Let the construction start! We have experience and have established and held good contact with carefully selected suppliers from Norway and other countries.

8. Notarial transfer

When the time has come, the notarial transfer takes place in Norway. You don’t need to attend in person. Also a transfer tax must be paid.

9. Key Transfer

After all this preparation, the transfer of keys will be a festive moment. From now on, you can dispose of your own property in Norway!

10. Enjoy!

And then you can start to thoroughly enjoy. We, at Portula, have been your contact throughout the entire process. Now all there is left for us to do, is to wish you a lot of joy with your Norwegian holiday home. However… If you wish, we can continue to assist you, with renting out your holiday property.
